Is anyone still out there? Anyone else interested in helping to keep this check-in going, or should we focus on the other fitness and nutrition diaries instead?
Okay, looks like drbloodaxe isn't around these days. But I'm sure there are still Kossacks slugging away at their fitness goals. Check-in time, everyone. Tell us how you're doing with your fitness, weight loss, and nutrition goals.
At the house of kkmama, stress seems to be reigning. But fortunately, I can say that I've been dealing with it in part with exercise. I've been doing some emotional eating and have a little portion distortion going on, but because I've been exercising consistently, I haven't gained weight. So I see that as a great thing.
A few fitness pluses... I got a good friend to commit to doing the Bolder Boulder with me, and we've made a time goal. I'm really happy about that... I feel like I have something very tangible to work toward, and the time goal she mentioned was exactly what I was thinking (running the 10K in under an hour). That's Memorial Day weekend. And... for my birthday this week, kkpapa (actually, I guess he'd be mmpapa) got me hiking poles. We just did a flat 5 mi hike with them (you can also consider thisnordic walking, a hot new trend which supposedly allows you to burn 30% more calories than regular walking). Whoo... I was able to walk faster, and I can tell that I got way more upper body workout. And one last thing... This is the most consistently I've exercised since before I had kids. And I'm beginning to really be able to tell... my runs are getting easier. Riding my bike uphill is getting easier. I can feel actual muscles in my legs. I'm making progress on my pull-up goal. I think I'm looking better in my clothes, and my pants are a little looser.
