editing again to change my diary name back to the 2009 GFCW7. Whatever you do folk, GET OFF THE COUCH! ;-)
editing to point y'all to Orinoco's diary: 2009 Get Fit Challenge Week 7 Great minds think alike, and this diary preceded mine. Post your updates in that* diary, not this one.
I hope I'm not stepping on drbloodaxe's toes, but Kossacks, I need to keep going! Here's a link to last week's diary by drbloodaxe: 2009 Get Fit Challenge Week 6
Okay, y'all... if you're like me, you've completed about 6 weeks of your resolution or whatever you want to call it. You're wanting to eat healthier, exercise more, and lose weight in 2009. But boy howdy, we're right in that phase where the resolution (or whatever you call it) starts to be forgotten.
The last couple of weeks have been challenging, to say the least. I had the flu, and my 4 year old had two viruses (and was very needy and demanding, poor thing). I didn't eat as well as I should have, and I didn't get much exercise. BUT. I'm accountable to all of you, and I'm here to say that I'm getting back on the horse. The last few days have been much better.
This is a bit brief, but if you'll humor me a request, I'll edit the links into the main body of the diary. What are your favorite fitness, nutrition, motivation, whatever websites for keeping you going on this quest? I have discovered Spark People because of the very first Get Fit Challenge diary. I've also learned about some useful running tools: Map My Run, which allows a user to create (and save) running routes (you can also use it as a log). I have also found good running logs at Runner's World (click on the link to training log--you'll have to register) and Running Ahead (again, you'll have to register) . There's also great running/training resources at Jeff Galloway's site. Cool Running has a great "couch to 5K" training program for beginning runners.
Okay, so obviously, my favorite form of exercise is running. What about y'all? How are you doing?
(Last but not least, I'll tell you that I gained a pound in the last week, but at least I'm still here!)
